Bringing a taste of tradition back to San Francisco
Our Story
In 1931, Nancy Leadbetter opened the first Leadbetter's Bake Shop in Portland, Maine. Nearly a century and four generations later, Jamieson Leadbetter is revitalizing that family tradition—now in San Francisco's iconic Castro.
From 2009 to 2015, Leadbetter's Bake Shop built a devoted following in the Bay Area, with our fresh English muffins featured in markets like Whole Foods, Bi-Rite, and Rainbow Grocery, and enjoyed at local cafés across the city. Today, we’re back on the griddle—small-batch baked daily—at our first retail store located here in the Castro.
